How this started
Halotherapy started from a really personal place. When I experienced mastitis myself, low-level laser therapy was what finally turned things around — quickly, gently, and without the painful interventions I'd been dreading. That experience changed how I thought about postnatal care, and it's a big part of why I do this work now.
I'd already been a Registered Nurse for years — currently at Gold Coast University Hospital — and I kept seeing mums leave the hospital with a problem that didn't quite need a doctor, but absolutely needed someone clinical, calm and unrushed. Halotherapy fills that gap.
What I do
I offer Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) and Therapeutic Ultrasound for:
- Mastitis, blocked ducts and engorgement
- Postnatal perineal recovery
- Post-surgical recovery and scar therapy (including c-section)
- Pain and inflammation — sports injuries, chronic pain, stubborn niggles
I work as a mobile practitioner across the Gold Coast — meaning I come to you — and I also see clients at a quiet clinic at 80 Townson Avenue, Palm Beach.
Credentials & approach
I'm a Registered Nurse on the national AHPRA register and I practice within their advertising and professional guidelines. That means I don't make outcome-based claims, don't use testimonials about specific clinical results, and I'll always tell you if something is outside the scope of what I can safely offer.
My approach is grounded in current evidence — particularly the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine's 2022 protocols, which moved the field toward gentler, less invasive care. I keep up to date by working at GCUH and reading widely.
What it's actually like
I try to make every session feel like the opposite of a clinical appointment — calm, private, and unhurried. Being welcomed into someone's home during a vulnerable season (a new baby, recovering from surgery, in pain) is something I never take for granted. The mums and clients I see are honestly incredible — strong, exhausted, resilient, and doing their absolute best.
I'll always explain what I'm doing and why. You can ask anything. And if a treatment isn't working or isn't right for you, I'll tell you — sometimes the most useful thing I do is refer you on to someone better placed.
