Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you might want to know.

Pricing, travel area, Medicare, what to expect on the day, and a few questions I get asked all the time.

Bookings & pricing

How do I book?

Online via the Cliniko booking calendar at any time, or call 0413 482 231. Same-day appointments are often available.

How much does it cost?

Standard pricing:

  • Initial consult & treatment: $160–180 (60–90 min)
  • Follow-up: $80–120 (45–60 min)
  • Packages: 3-pack from $330, 6-pack from $640

Full pricing is on the home page services list.

Is it covered by Medicare?

LLLT and Therapeutic Ultrasound by a Registered Nurse aren't currently covered by Medicare. Some private health funds reimburse nursing consultations under extras cover — check with your fund. A receipt is provided for any reimbursement claim.

How do I pay?

Invoices are sent via Cliniko after each appointment with a Pay-Now button (card, Apple Pay, Google Pay). For in-person visits, tap-to-pay via Tyro is available.

What's your cancellation policy?

Cancellations or reschedules with at least 24 hours' notice are free. Last-minute cancellations may attract a fee — we'll confirm this when you book.

Travel & locations

Where do you travel?

Across the southern Gold Coast and into the Tweed — Palm Beach, Currumbin, Burleigh Heads, Miami, Mermaid Beach, Tugun, Coolangatta, Kingscliff, Cabarita and surrounds. Free travel within 30 km of Palm Beach.

What if I'm outside the 30 km radius?

A $35 travel surcharge applies beyond 30 km from Palm Beach. Distances are calculated by Google Maps driving distance.

Where is the clinic?

80 Townson Avenue, Palm Beach QLD 4221 — a calm, private space set up specifically for LLLT and ultrasound.

Treatment & safety

Does LLLT hurt?

No. LLLT is painless and non-thermal. Most people feel nothing at all, or a gentle warmth. Therapeutic ultrasound feels like a soft tingle. Sessions are always designed around your comfort.

Is it safe while breastfeeding?

Yes — LLLT is safe during breastfeeding for both mother and baby, and you can (and should) continue to feed during a course of treatment.

Is it safe during pregnancy?

LLLT is generally avoided directly over the abdomen during pregnancy. For other areas (e.g. shoulder, ankle), we'll discuss case by case and may suggest waiting if there's any uncertainty.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is needed. You can book directly. If a GP, midwife or surgeon has already seen you, sharing their notes (informally is fine) helps.

What if it's not working?

If your symptoms aren't improving — or are getting worse — Hayley will tell you and refer you on to a GP, lactation consultant (IBCLC), or hospital review as appropriate. Honest is always the right answer.

About Halotherapy

Who is Hayley?

Hayley Earnshaw is a Registered Nurse on the Australian AHPRA register, currently working at Gold Coast University Hospital alongside running Halotherapy. Read Hayley's full story →

Why are there no testimonials on the site?

AHPRA's advertising guidelines for Registered Nurses prohibit using testimonials about specific clinical outcomes (e.g. "she cured my mastitis"). General reviews about the experience itself are okay, but I keep clinical outcome stories off the public site to stay clearly within those rules.

Can I see Hayley as a regular GP-style nurse?

No — Halotherapy is specifically for LLLT and Therapeutic Ultrasound treatments. For general nursing care, please see your GP or a community health service.

Still got questions?

Book a free 15-minute phone consult.

No commitment. Hayley will help you work out the right path before you commit to anything.
